Using the Radial Fill Effects

  1. Start a new design.

  2. Left-click the Complex Fill button .

  3. Select Decorative from the Stitch Type pull- down toolbar at the top of the View Window .

  4. Digitize a relatively large circle (so that you can see the distortion effect).

  5. Click the Edit Mode button .

  6. Double-click the fill you just digitized. The Properties dialog appears.

  7. Click the Top Stitching tab. Make sure the stitch type is set to Decorative in this tab.

  8. Choose any decorative stitch (such as Bows).

  9. Click OK.

  10. Click the Effects tab.

  11. Select Radial Out or Radial In from the Distortion Effect pull-down menu.

  12. Click OK. The Radial Out or Radial In effect will be applied to the fill.

Here is an example of Radial Out:

Place the mouse cursor over the point in the center of the circle (called the globe center).  Left-click and hold the left mouse button.  You can now drag the point around to change the Radial Out effect.  (You can also move the location of the radius point on the outside of the circle).

NOTE: To create Radial In fills, repeat the above steps, selecting Radial In in the Distortion Effects pull-down menu.

NOTE: Check the Trace Borders option in the Top Stitching tab to trace a border around your decorative fill.
